FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Will this help me become a happier mom?
Yes! Thousands of moms have used this simple one-line-a-day practice to feel calmer, more grounded, and genuinely happier in their everyday lives. It’s not magic—it’s mindfulness made doable, helping you notice the good that’s already there and enjoy your motherhood more.
What if I’m not a “journaler”?
That’s okay! The Flecks of Gold Journal was designed for “non-journalers” or even sporadic ones. Each page only asks for one line, so there’s no pressure to write paragraphs—just one small reflection when you can.
What if I don’t write every day?
You don’t have to. Some moms write a few times a week, others once or twice a month. The point isn’t perfection…it’s perspective. Every time you write, you strengthen your ability to notice the good in your motherhood.
My kids are older—will this journal still work for me?
Absolutely. The Flecks of Gold Journal works for every season of motherhood. Whether your kids are toddlers, teens, or grown, this practice helps you notice and celebrate the everyday moments that matter most.
As one mom shared, “Even with my college-age kids, it’s helped me see how much beauty is still in our relationship.” Because no matter what stage you’re in, there are still flecks of gold to be found.
How is this different from other gratitude or memory journals?
Most journals focus on filling a page or answering prompts. The Flecks of Gold Journal is simple on purpose—so it’s doable, repeatable, and lasting. Over time, it becomes a three-year time capsule of the golden moments you might have forgotten.
It costs more than some journals - what makes it different?
This isn’t a typical journal—it’s designed to help you notice what matters most and feel more connected to your family and yourself. With space for three years of memories, premium materials, and a format that lasts, it’s both a meaningful practice and a keepsake your family will cherish.
Is this journal mom-specific? I love the concept and want to give it to a woman who isn’t a mom.
The journal was designed with mothers in mind, and it does reference motherhood on the cover and in a few interior prompts. That said, the heart of this practice—noticing the good, slowing down, and finding joy in daily life—is universal. Many women who aren’t moms have loved using it as a gratitude or reflection journal.
What if I buy it and realize it’s not for me?
No worries! We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. No questions asked. Try it, and if it doesn’t bring more peace and joy to your motherhood, simply send it back.
What if I want to give this to all of my friends? Do you do bulk orders?
Yes! The Flecks of Gold Journal makes a meaningful, heartfelt gift for all the moms in your life—friends, sisters, coworkers, or members of your moms’ group.
We offer special bulk discounts for larger orders so you can share this simple, life-changing practice with others. Use code 15OFF for 15% when ordering 5 or more. Use code TAKE20 for 20% when ordering 20 or more. Plus, you’ll always get free U.S. shipping on two or more journals
How big is it, and what’s it made of?
The journal measures 6" x 8.5" and is 1.5" thick. It includes 408 pages of high-quality, acid-free paper with gold foil embossing. You can choose from linen or leather covers—all designed to age beautifully over time.
My Flecks of Gold journal is the only self care habit that I am consistent with. When I first became a mother, I felt in over my head. I loved my baby but I did not feel cut out for motherhood. I found the 3 in 30 podcast and the concept of bite size, doable actions towards a better motherhood was a breath of fresh air to me. The Flecks of Gold journal came out close to the time that I had my second baby. By that point I understood feeling unsure in motherhood but I was not prepared for the pure anger and resentment I felt in my postpartum state with the second baby. I decided to order the Flecks of Gold journal (probably in the middle of a sleepless night) and will forever be grateful that I did. While my struggles as a mother are still there, I now find myself looking for those daily glimmers. I can read back each day what the previous year’s memories held and remember the years with my babies as good, rather than helpless and resentful. Aside from family members and important paperwork, the Flecks of Gold journal has become my number one “save in case of a fire” item. Thank you for the gift this journal has brought to my life!
(My only suggestion for future orders would be to keep the colors consistent, or at least one option that would remain the same. I was disappointed the grey was not available on my most recent purchase as I am now on my second journal and wish they were unified).
In one of Rachel’s podcasts I heard her say she gifted a fleck of gold journal to her kids teachers. I loved that idea, because I never know what to get my kids’ teachers that isn’t the same old stuff. I gifted it to one of my kids teachers a couple years ago and a year later I was talking with that teacher and she said how much that journal has changed her life and how she listens to the podcast now and what a great resource it was. I know Rachel’s work with the podcast, her SAM course and her genuine friendship has meant so much to me and changed me for the better, so I am so excited anytime I can share it with another mom. The ripple effect is cool to see. This work we do as mothers makes a huge impact, for generations to come!!
I bought this exactly 3 years ago and have loved how it forces me to think about my day and hopefully add some positivity to my life. I bought a new one in anticipation of recording another 3 years. I've never missed a day yet. It's been fun to re-read what I wrote from previous years. I was able to read my thoughts at my son's wedding dinner from notes I'd jotted down through various aspects of his courtship with his now wife through my lens as his mother. This journal has been all around the world with me as I like to have it accessible to record what's happening each day. What works best for me is to write about the previous day every morning. Sometimes I wish I had more room to write each day, but I've learned how to summarize a bit better. Now as I'm coming up on the completion of 3 years of daily thoughts, this journal is such a treasure to me!
